CBS ArcSafe® Introduces ArcSafe RRS-3 Compact NS remote racking solution for low-voltage Merlin-Gerin/Schneider circuit breakers
Denton, Texas, Aug. 25, 2015 – CBS ArcSafe®, a leading manufacturer of remote racking and switching solutions for low- and medium-voltage switchgear, introduces its RRS-3 Compact NS remote racking solution designed for all Merlin-Gerin/Schneider type Compact NS low-voltage power circuit breakers.
The new CBS ArcSafe RRS-3 Compact NS remote racking solution allows technicians to remotely rack in or out the Compact NS-style low-voltage power circuit breaker from up to 300 feet away while remaining stationed outside of the arc-flash danger zone. This feature can reduce or eliminate the need for arc-flash hazard suits, since it eliminates all hazardous manual contact with gear during operation.
Powered by the CBS ArcSafe RSO-IV control console, the RRS-3 Compact NS is compatible with all Merlin-Gerin/Schneider electrically operated Compact NS breakers housed within the withdrawable circuit breaker chassis. Typical applications of the Merlin-Gerin/Schneider Compact NS include petrochemical plants, oil platforms, hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities. Installation and operation of the CBS ArcSafe RRS-3 Compact NS is quick, simple, and does not require any modifications to the existing equipment.
Made in the USA, the CBS ArcSafe RRS-3 Compact NS is lightweight at only 16 pounds, meaning that it's portable and easy to use in hard-to-access areas. Also, installation and operation are simple, requiring no modifications to existing equipment.
